How to reach Taj Mahal?



The Taj Mahal is situated in the city of Agra, which is in the northern state of India, Utter Pradesh.
Agra is well connected to New Delhi, which is at a distance of about 200 kms.

By Air

Agra Airport at Kheria is about 7 km from the city centre, daily flights from New Delhi are available.

By Train

Agra is well connected to rest of the country thanks to the mighty Indian Railways. There are three railway stations in Agra:

  • Agra Cantt - main station
  • Agra Fort - it is the oldest railway station in india
  • Raja Ki Mandi
The main trains connecting Agra with Delhi are : Palace on Wheels, Shatabdi express, Rajdhani express, and Taj Express.

By Road

It takes about 4 hrs from Delhi to reach Agra by road. Taxis and buses are available from Delhi to Agra and vice-versa.

The holy city of Mathura(birth place of Lord Krishna)is about 50 kms from Agra on route to Delhi.

Local Transportation

Auto rickshaw, Cycle Rickshaws and taxis are the main mode of transport in Agra and are available very readily.
