Taj Mahal - visiting timings



Day timings: Sunrise to Sunset, every Day(except Friday),

Tickets are available throughout the day outside the Taj Mahal from the western and eastern gate, and at the southern gate tickets are available from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The tourists can spend any number of hours inside the Taj Mahal complex from sunrise to sunset.

Night timings: 8:30 PM to 12:30 AM (On Full moon night, two days before and two days after)

  • Night viewing of the Taj Mahal is not allowed on fridays
  • Only 400 visitors are allowed per night in 8 batches of 50 iside the Taj Mahal.
  • Advance booking of tickets only one day in advance from 10am to 6pm at the office of archiological survey of India,22 mall road, Agra.
  • Entry to the Taj Mahal would be from eastern gate via shilpgram.
  • Cancellation of tickets allowed on same day at booking counter from 10am to 12pm, 25% deducted as cancellation fees.

Taj Mahal-Ticket pricing

Two tickets are issued to visit some of Agra's main sights: the Agra Development Association (ADA) ticket(toll tax) is valid for the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Itmad-ud-Daula, Akbar's Mausoleum(Sikandra) and Fatehpur Sikri for one day, so its a good idea to hang on to it. The separate Archeaological Survey of India (ASI) ticket must be purchased for each of these sights. Both these tickets are only available from the sites themselves.

For Indian nationals : INR 20/-

For SAARC and BIMSTEC countries : INR 510/-

For other countries : INR 750/-

Children under age of 15 years are allowed free.

Night ticket :

For Indian nationals : INR 510/-

For children 3-15 years : INR 500/-

For Foreign nationals : INR 750/-

Children under age of 3 years are allowed free.
